Jordan Unveils World’s First Immersive National Study, Led by Build n Blaze CEO
Build n Blaze CEO and internationally recognized metaverse standards authority Radia Funna has spearheaded the development of Jordan's groundbreaking national assessment of immersive technology readiness—the world's first comprehensive government-commissioned study evaluating a nation's preparedness to leverage immersive technologies for socioeconomic growth. This pioneering study, conducted in partnership with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), and Jordan's Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship (MoDEE), establishes a new global benchmark for immersive technology governance and national digital strategy.
Pioneering Global Methodology for Immersive Technology Assessment
The Study on the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan's Readiness and Potential to Utilize Immersive Technologies represents an unprecedented approach to evaluating national capacity for emerging technology adoption, drawing on Funna's extensive experience in international standards development including co-chairing WG1 of the UN's first Focus Group on metaverse, where she co-authored the UN-approved definition of metaverse adopted by 193 Member States in 2023.
The study also leveraged Build n Blaze's novel assessment framework to examine five critical readiness dimensions: Infrastructure capabilities, regulatory preparedness, human capital development, economic opportunity identification, and societal integration pathways. This comprehensive approach ensures that immersive technology adoption aligns with Jordan's Economic Modernisation Vision 2033.
Setting Global Precedent for Evidence-Based Policy
The Jordan study establishes global precedent for evidence-based immersive technology policy development, moving beyond speculation to rigorous assessment of national capabilities and opportunities. Its impact extends beyond Jordan to influence international best practices for immersive technology governance. As the world's first comprehensive national assessment of immersive technology readiness, it provides a template for other governments seeking to develop strategic approaches to metaverse and virtual reality adoption.
